About Chené
I am a lecturer in the Classics, with a secondary education degree that qualifies me to teach English and History as well. I have experience with high school learners and university students, and understand the unique requirements of each level of education - as well as the different types of pressures under which each learner/students has to function.
I have a passion for teaching, learning (both more of my field of studies, and from the interactions with my students and learners).

I follow the Socratic pedagogical structure, meaning that I teach my students and learners not as an autocratic authority, but as a facilitator to their education. I ask them questions and assist them with critically (and creatively) engaging with the subject matters.
I believe the only way to truly learn something is to understand it in your own context, and not by parrot-learning the references a textbook provides.
