About Stefney-Rose

Hi! I’m Stefney-Rose, a dedicated BEd Honours student and passionate future teacher with practical classroom experience. I am patient, approachable and committed to helping learners reach their full potential. I aim to create supportive, engaging lessons that build both academic skills and confidence.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is patient, supportive and learner-centred. As a BEd student with practical teaching experience, I understand that every learner learns differently. I focus on creating a comfortable environment where students feel confident to ask questions, make mistakes and improve without feeling judged.

My lessons are interactive and adapted to each learner’s needs. I use clear explanations, examples, questioning, guided practice and activities to make difficult concepts easier to understand. I also focus on building the learner’s confidence rather than simply helping them memorise information. What makes my approach unique is that I combine my academic knowledge with practical classroom experience, allowing me to adapt my teaching style to different learners and learning challenges.

I am proficient in English and Afrikaans, and can teach in either language, depending on the learner’s needs and school requirements.

A typical lesson begins by identifying what the learner already understands and where they are struggling. We then work through the topic step-by-step, followed by guided practice and questions to check understanding. I encourage learners to explain concepts in their own words so that I can identify gaps in their understanding. Lessons end with a short review and, where appropriate, practice activities to reinforce what was learnt.

My lessons are aimed primarily at primary and lower-secondary school learners, particularly learners who need additional support with English, Afrikaans and Social Sciences. I can assist with homework, test and examination preparation, reading and comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and improving overall subject confidence.

Most importantly, I want learners to leave each lesson feeling that they understand the work better, feel more confident, and know how to approach the next challenge independently.
