As the rep for DPhil students at IDS, I have continuously relied on Hadeer to volunteer for training seminars and workshops for two important tools for researchers that are Zotero and Nvivo. In addition, Hadeer has presented numerous lectures on fieldwork research experience and researcher mental wellbeing. Hadeer was always first to volunteer for one-on-one mentoring for Doctoral and MA students and engage with their research work, time organisation, brainstorming sessions and professional feedback on current projects.

Hadeer has been teaching me Arabic one-to-one for four months. I have felt my language and confidence develop enormously during this time, and have thoroughly enjoyed myself while doing so.
Hadeer has the intution to understand the ways you learn most effectively and the ability to structure your classes around it. The homework she has given me has always been fun, interesting and diverse, and often has me exploring new things. She is able to push your level at the right pace and keep it fun at the same time. I like that she will sometimes use other dialects that I am familiar with to maintain my versitility in the language.
Hadeer is also very encourgaing and supportive which I find really helpful. She notices where you are improving and makes sure she acknowledges it, which helps to build confidence. She is also patient when you're struggling.
Hadeer is also kind, thoughtful and easy to talk to. While I can feel shy talking to some of my Arabic speaking friends, I never feel shy talking to her.
I have been learning Arabic for many years, and Hadeer is without a doubt one of my favourite teachers. Her ability to tailor learning to the specific individual and her openess and encouragement are a great combination for a rewarding learning experience.
