About Christina
I am a qualified, NZ registered teacher and learning support specialist with a vast teaching background in special needs. I have completed a Psychology degree, Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), Advanced Diploma in Remedial Education and my BEd. Honours in Inclusive Education (Learning Support). I have ten years teaching and learning support experience, predominantly from New Entrant through to Senior Primary. I have a thorough understanding of the NZ curriculum. I have also attended many professional development workshops to further build on my teaching skills, as well as to support ESOL students. I will continue to keep learning new interventions to better assist individuals through their learning processes.

My biggest passion is for student success, knowledge of effective and innovative learning pedagogies. I am also extremely open and willing to further equip myself in developing a cultural responsive learning environment . I am a caring, inspirational teacher, committed to excellence and learning. My successful strategies have assisted in engaging whānau, raising achievement through culturally sustaining pedagogies and I am always open to new learning. Due to my teaching experience, my strengths involve teaching literacy raising achievement levels through using successful, evidence-based approaches to best support cultural diverse and ESOL learners.
I firmly believe in placing our tamariki at the heart of all decision making. Striving to ensure that every child learns every day, honouring their wellbeing, and forming connections that make a difference is what I value most. Understanding the power of learners’ mindsets, the challenges of being in the learning pit, the social and emotional needs of the particular age group, are all vital parts to seeing our tamariki achieve.
