About Laura

Hi! I’m Laura, a certified elementary teacher with more than 10 years of experience helping children learn, grow, and become confident learners.

I hold a Master’s degree in Education as well as TESOL and TEFL certifications. My experience includes teaching in elementary classrooms and working with children online. I especially enjoy helping young learners develop their English skills in a way that feels natural, encouraging, and enjoyable.

I work with children at a variety of English levels, from beginners who are just starting to learn English to students who already communicate in English but want to become more fluent, accurate, and confident.

My teaching style is patient, positive, and interactive. I adapt each lesson to the child’s age, English level, interests, and individual learning goals rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.

For children who are developing both English and literacy skills, I can also incorporate reading, phonics, vocabulary, comprehension, and language development into their lessons.

My goal is to help children not only improve their English, but feel comfortable using it—to speak, ask questions, express their ideas, and communicate with confidence.

About the lesson

My English lessons are interactive, encouraging, and designed to get young learners actively using English. Rather than simply memorizing vocabulary or completing worksheets, students have plenty of opportunities to speak, answer questions, describe pictures, read, listen, and use new language in meaningful conversation.

Lessons are personalized to each child’s English level, age, interests, and learning goals. Depending on your child’s needs, lessons may include:

• Vocabulary development
• Pronunciation
• Listening comprehension
• Reading comprehension
• Sentence building
• Grammar
• English language development for school

I especially enjoy helping children become more comfortable speaking in complete sentences and expressing their own ideas in English. I use visuals, games, conversation, stories, reading, and age-appropriate activities to keep lessons engaging while providing plenty of repetition and practice.

For beginning English learners, I provide lots of visual support, modeling, repetition, and opportunities to practice new language in a comfortable environment.

For children who already speak English, I can focus on expanding vocabulary, improving sentence structure, strengthening fluency, and helping them communicate with greater confidence and accuracy.

Whether your child is just beginning to learn English or already speaks English and wants to become a stronger, more confident communicator, I will meet them at their current level and help them continue to grow.

The complimentary first lesson is an opportunity for me to get to know your child, learn about their English experience and goals, and get a sense of their current language skills.

Through age-appropriate conversation and activities, I’ll look at areas such as speaking, vocabulary, listening, comprehension, and overall comfort using English. We can then discuss your goals and determine the best approach for future lessons.

The first lesson is relaxed and encouraging. My goal is for your child to feel comfortable, have fun using English, and finish the lesson feeling successful.
