About Deante

Education is very close to my heart. Having recently excelled in both IGCSE and VCE English, I understand the challenges students face and can provide relatable, effective guidance. I believe education plays a vital role in creating positive change, and I'm committed to helping students build confidence and achieve their goals in English.

About the lesson

About Me
I am a recent VCE graduate from Peninsula International School Australia with a strong academic background and hands-on experience teaching English to students of all ages. Having achieved an A* in IGCSE English and completed VCE English (2025), I bring both academic excellence and real-world understanding of what students need to succeed in English studies.
I am also a COBIS Award recipient for poetry and creative writing, with several years of teaching and mentoring experience in both ESL/EFL and academic English contexts.

Lesson Structure & Length
Typical lesson length:
45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the student’s age and focus area.
Each session includes:
Warm-up and recap (to review previous concepts)
Focused learning activity (e.g. reading comprehension, essay structure, or creative writing)
Guided practice and feedback
Mini-assessment or discussion to reinforce understanding
Homework or optional extension tasks for continued improvement.

Teaching Techniques & Methodology

My approach is student-centered, flexible, and interactive, adapting to each learner’s needs and goals. I focus on:
Building confidence through encouragement and consistent feedback
Integrating creativity to make lessons engaging (especially for young learners)
Exam-focused strategies for IGCSE and VCE students, including essay planning, text analysis, and timed writing
Differentiated instruction, tailoring explanations to different learning styles
Communicative practice;using real-life language applications, discussions, and short projects to build fluency
I believe in making English enjoyable, practical, and empowering and helping students find their voice and excel in both academic and everyday communication.
