A word of adjective say 'This' can be used as a Pronoun and as an adjective depending upon the usage of the word in the particular sentence. Now let's say-
1. This is a pen.
2. This pen is mine.
Now what is the difference between the use of this in the two sentences.
The above one is a Pronoun and the second one is working as an adjective. But to know how this works, a person has to understand the syntax of a sentence carefully.
