My approach as a tutor is centered on active learning, clarity, and confidence-building. I don’t just focus on helping students get the right answer, I focus on making sure they truly understand why the answer is correct so they can apply the concept independently on exams.

I often break complex topics into smaller, manageable pieces and connect them to real-world examples or prior knowledge. I also incorporate practice questions, recall techniques, and mini “teach-back” moments, where students explain concepts to reinforce their understanding.

A typical session starts with identifying what the student is struggling with or reviewing previous material. From there, I:

Walk through examples step-by-step
Guide the student through practice problems
End with a summary and quick review to solidify learning
I also adjust sessions based on upcoming exams, homework, or specific goals.
