About Loida
I am a PhD graduate major in synthetic organic chemistry. I have more than 5 years of experience as an academic researcher in Japan and the Philippines. My most recent job was as a chemist at Sydney. My role was focused on the research and development of pharmaceutical products. I also worked previously as a college instructor teaching general, organic and physical chemistry at the University of the Philippines, the country’s national university. I have recently moved back to Darwin and work as a part time chemistry tutor.

In preparing for my lessons, I cater to each of my student’s needs. Each student is unique with regards to what teaching method works for them. I try to make our lessons as lively and interesting as possible. I usually give a lot of exercises that would help me assess how they are progressing. I give step by step pointers on how to approach problems. During exam period we also go through sample exams or if not available we do a thorough run through of possible questions that could appear in the exam on the basis of the syllabus.
