About Toran

I enjoy writing in my free time, and have various projects that I share with my friends and family. As I have become more invested in writing I have developed a greater appreciation for it, and an understanding of it.

I have attended the globe theatre several times to see classic Shakespeare plays such as Macbeth, Much Ado About Nothing, and A Midsummer Night's Dream, just to name a few. I've found each of them to be thoroughly enjoyable, and sharing my experiences with my students has helped them feel more excited about studying Shakespeare.

I've also read the more classic novels, such as Of Mice and Men, To Kill a Mockingbird, and more recently An Inspector calls, for my current students and my brother who is currently studying this for his GCSEs

About the lesson

My lessons are focused on engaging students in the learning process, by finding the right methods for them. This will be done by listening to the needs of a student in order to find out how best to support them, and getting them to be active and share their thought processes so I am able to understand them better.

It's important to allow my student's ideas to be explored, as it allows them to build their confidence in ideas, while guiding them down a path of greater understanding, by introducing principles for them to explore in their own way.

I have experience teaching in a tuition centre with students from Key Stages 2, 3, and 4, though I mostly focus on GCSE level.

Lessons will usually be between 1 and 2 hours, as after that it's important to give the knowledge some time to sink in. They will done remotely, with a potential to have in person sessions depending on the situation.
