I am a Chemical Engineering student with a strong academic background in chemistry and experience tutoring students in both General and Organic Chemistry.

My students got 92.4% (A) on UCSD Extended Studies: Organic Chemistry I course designed for gifted children. Also pupils from IGCSE program got decent marks without prior knowledge in Chemistry. Additionally, a student from U of Cincinnati taking Organic Chemistry I significantly improved her knowledge via my private lessons and tailored approach.

Talking about my approach, it is based on genuine understanding: I explain difficult concepts clearly, break complex problems into logical steps, and help students develop the ability to solve unfamiliar problems independently. I also use many jokes and digital media references to engage my students and create a stress-free environment. I have particular experience with topics such as organic reaction mechanisms, stereochemistry, resonance, molecular structure, and spectroscopy.

I understand that university chemistry can feel overwhelming, especially when several concepts have to be connected at once. My goal is to make those connections clear and create a structured learning process adapted to each student's level.

Whether you are preparing for an exam, catching up on material, or simply want to build a stronger foundation in chemistry, I aim to provide lessons that are organized, rigorous, and genuinely useful.

– My teaching approach

I believe chemistry becomes much easier when you understand the logic behind it. My lessons focus on building that understanding rather than simply memorizing formulas, reactions, or mechanisms.

I explain concepts step by step, using visual representations, analogies, reaction mechanisms, molecular structures, and carefully selected practice problems. I also encourage students to explain their reasoning, because being able to explain *why* something happens is often the best indication that they truly understand it.

I adapt my teaching to each student's background and goals. If the fundamentals are weak, we build them systematically. If the student already has a strong foundation, we can move quickly into more challenging problems and deeper applications.

# A typical lesson

A lesson usually begins with a short review of previous material and a few questions to identify any gaps in understanding. We then introduce the new concept and break it down into its fundamental principles.

After that, we work through examples together, gradually moving from straightforward problems to more challenging ones. In organic chemistry, this may involve predicting products, analyzing mechanisms, comparing reaction pathways, or working with stereochemistry and molecular structure.

I finish by giving the student an opportunity to solve problems independently. This helps me see what they can do without guidance and determines what we should focus on next.

– What sets me apart

I try to teach chemistry as a connected system rather than as a list of unrelated topics. For example, instead of asking a student to memorize which resonance structure is more stable, I want them to understand the principles that allow them to determine stability themselves.

I firmly believe everyone can learn Chemistry on a decent level if he or she just wants to. I provide not only resources and knowledge but also motivation!

My goal is for students to eventually look at an unfamiliar problem and think, “I know how to approach this,” rather than simply trying to remember a similar question they have seen before.

I also create and use structured visual materials during my lessons, which makes complicated topics such as mechanisms, resonance, stereochemistry, hybridization, and spectroscopy easier to follow.
