About Valerie

I have previously taught English in a primary school in Spain while also managing English tutoring lessons with locals ranging in age from ten to twenty-six years old, and have received a TEFL Diploma Certification. Having spent a significant amount of time volunteering as an English teacher in several institutions, I am very familiar with the academic environment and enjoy working with people of all ages.

About the lesson

I am a final year student of Psychology and Spanish at the University of Exeter offering lessons either in person or via Skype to people who need help with their English comprehension and clarity in their speaking and writing.
I am friendly and enjoy working with people, and strive to use material that is relevant and enjoyable for my students including videos, games, and articles that will hold my students' interest as well as further their grasp of the English language.

Valerie is hard-working and conscientious. If she takes on a job, she will complete it. She has shown herself to be a future teacher by taking a course in TEFL, by volunteering as a teacher assistant in Ecuador and the Philippines and by spending a full year in Spain working for the British Council.
I have been in the education profession for more than 40 years and am presently head of one of the oldest and largest international schools in the world. I have seen lots of teachers come and go, and, biased though I undoubtedly am, I am sure that anyone who hires Valerie as a tutor will be very pleased with her work.
