About Arek

February 2016 - June 2016 - substitute teacher in a non-public primary school, Gdansk, Poland Trained Spanish and English to over 100 pupils in a program run by a non-public educational institution; established good relationships with the pupils; prioritized discipline as well as task completion, identified stronger / weaker children and entrusted them with appropriate tasks, made sure each pupil correctly identified their role and enjoyed the teacher's feedback and assessment November 2010 - November 2012 - Wroclaw College of Humanities, Poland - st nd rd English tutor, gave practical classes of English for Geodesy to 1, 2 and 3 year students, prepared and engaged in an end-of-term English exam session August 2006 - currently - sole proprietor; teaching foreign languages to both an individual and a corporate client (Auchan, Skanska, Qubus Hotels and more) October 2003 - June 2006 English teacher in privately-owned language schools October 2003 - June 2004 English / French teacher and a translator for Siemens June 2000 - June 2005 Customer Service, Cedar Point Amusement Park, Sandusky, Ohio, United States June 2000 - October 2000 Content Writer at a multimedia publishing house - created language resources for English learners

About the lesson

I offer a professional English course at work (English at Work). From the beginning, you will realize your specific goals and needs. You will learn how to: a) attend and conduct meetings, in particular: - simulation of commercial conversations - examples of professional recordings of negotiations in English - learn to establish first contacts and follow up with existing ones - learn and practice specific social skills, such as: introduce yourself, present your own offer, conduct meetings skillfully and participate in them (reach an agreement, suggest, prepare the best solutions for the client) b) videoconference and telephone conversations c) stand-up meetings (meetings held at the beginning of the day, whose objective is to summarize the previous day and establish work objectives for the following day) d) write emails and prepare presentations

You will learn how to: a) carry out typical conversations in the office with colleagues b) talk about everything and about anything, that is, make small talk b) talk about your job and responsibilities c) set goals for the future, discuss plans d) prepare for a business trip e) work with your team in English f) provide instructions g) discuss problems and suggest solutions.

We will use modern technologies for each class, thanks to which you will learn how to use English in the best way and use it even outside of the classroom. The classes are motivating and effective. The materials I use are professional and modern materials such as: (concealed information) (concealed information) default / files / UpperIntermediate_StudentsBook_Unit 1_0.pdf

In addition, you will have access to an online professional dictionary and a platform to learn vocabulary (7 different games that repeat the vocabulary) both on your smartphone and on your computer.

The fee is: 17 euros per hour.
We'll jointly set specific, measurable, realistic and defined goals.

Xavier habla inglés con fluidez, muestra vocabulario de alto nivel y solo comete errores menores de gramática. Para intensificar su inglés y llevarlo a un nivel completamente nuevo, lo animo a que intente eliminar los errores típicos que cometen los españoles y luego tal vez disminuya la velocidad un poco mientras habla para no caer en los errores de básicos. Dicho esto, Xavier es una persona increíblemente ambiciosa y estoy seguro de que lo hará excelente en su futura carrera.

"Xavier is a fluent English speaker, displays high-level vocabulary and only makes minor grammar mistakes. To step up his English to bring it to a whole new level, I'd encourage him to try to eliminate typical mistakes Spanish people make and then maybe slow down a little bit while talking to not fall prey to basic tense mistakes. That being said, Xavier is an incredibly ambitious person that I'm sure will make it big in his future career".
