About Joanne
My name is Jo and I’m an English tutor who believes that learning works best when it’s personal, engaging, and empowering. I’ve always loved language and the way words can shape ideas, connect people, and open new perspectives and I want to share that enthusiasm with others. Tutoring gives me the chance to help students not only improve their skills but also discover confidence and enjoyment in their own use of English. My lessons are carefully tailored to each learner, combining structure with creativity to suit individual goals, whether that’s mastering grammar, building strong analytical writing, or developing imaginative stories through creative writing. I aim to make every session lively, supportive, and productive, encouraging curiosity and independent thought. Teaching, for me, is about helping students see progress they can be proud of, and helping them find their voice through language.
