About Chris
i am an MA student at University of Nottingham studying English language, literature and teaching with an extensive background of teaching/ tutoring oriented jobs. I have worked with classes of all age groups and creeds to assure a solid understanding of what different students may individually require to propel themselves forward. In my MA, i also achieved a distinction in a teaching motivation module, which urges for the implementation of legitimate motivational strategies and facilitative teaching methods to equip students with the right tools to learn instead of simply instructing them. Students have achieved solid grade improvements thanks to my input, but also a long-lasting desire to learn thanks to motivational input. By hiring me, you would equip yourself or your child with the knowledge needed to understand what makes you feel positively about learning, how to eliminate negative influences, and generally how to apply hard work oriented attitudes to work.

I give lessons to students from the ages of 11 and above, with a largely facilitative method that adapts based upon the learner's needs. I have read extensive peer-reviewed journals and scholarly articles on optmising/ adapting teaching methods for the best outcomes, and have found incremental strategies that improve the student's performance through reflections about motivations, anxieties and dynamics of the self and the group. Due to my reading knowledge, i understand that students have different hierarchical cognitive, affective and reflective needs in order to achieve their maximum capabilities, and i implement different statistically proven strategies based upon these individual characteristics.
