About Kristin Elise
I have been teaching ESL for 20 years - to children in Chinatown San Francisco, at Miami Dade College and at MILA (Miami International Language Academy). English is my first language, and I have a degree in English Literature and am a published writer. I also speak fluent French and Spanish and forgotten Japanese and Indonesian. I used to sing my way around the world in big international hotels in Asia, South America and Europe. I understand what it is to live in a new culture and learn a new language - I have been there many times. We will make this journey educational and enjoyable - the same way that I learned my languages. I look forward to meeting you and teaching you the gift of language and culture.

Being able to communicate with others is the most important aspect of a new language. We practice conversation. Everyday situations, basic wants and needs. And then the important aspects of grammar, reading and writing. I have been teaching ESL for 20 years for children and adults from every country. At colleges, language schools and private classes in person or on Zoom. I work with the printed or digital word, videos, visuals, songs, role playing among other means. I speak fluent French and Spanish and some forgotten Japanese and Indonesian. As a singer I performed around the world in big international hotels and have lived in Asia, South America and Europe. Being a teacher is like being an entertainer - you present the information with great meaning and enjoyment and it stays with you long after the curtain closes.
