About Claudia
I have acquired all the education needed to be an excellent ESOL teacher. I have earned a BA in TESOL-k-12 education and completed an internship and passed the EdTPA which is a preservice assessment process designed by educators to answer the essential question: "Is a new teacher ready for the job?" • edTPA is designed to measure teacher candidate effectiveness in the classroom by focusing on student learning. I have all the credentials and have passed all the teaching standards at the school where I currently teach.

I know what it feels like to live in a new country where everything that you're familiar with has become unfamiliar. Everything from the weather, culture, food, and language. I was an ESOL student after I arrived on January 10, 1987. I know how it feels to not be able to understand your teachers or other peers that spoke English. I want to be the bridge between you and the English-speaking world. I have the ability to create lessons that are user-friendly and scaffolded at your proficiency level. I am bilingual in Spanish and all my lessons will be differentiated and scaffolded with sentence starters, realia/images, word banks, vocabulary, and translation in your native language. Make me your tutor and you will be speaking and writing in English in no time.
