About Laura

I am a certified teacher in Manitoba and Saskatchewan with over 20 years of teaching experience. I also hold a TESL certificate from the University of Manitoba and a CELPIP instructor certification.

I work with adult English language learners who want to improve their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Whether you're preparing for CELPIP, improving your English for everyday communication, or building confidence in your language abilities, I tailor lessons to your individual needs and goals.

About the lesson

My lessons are relaxed, engaging, and focused on helping adults build confidence using English in everyday situations.

A typical lesson begins with a conversation about your interests, experiences, or something happening in your life. This gives us an opportunity to practise speaking and listening naturally before moving into specific areas you'd like to improve.

The first lesson is an opportunity for me to assess your speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills, while learning about your goals and challenges. From there, lessons become more targeted to your individual needs.

Whether you're preparing for CELPIP, improving your conversational English, or strengthening your grammar and writing skills, we'll work at a pace that supports your progress.

Please note that in-person lessons are only available on the weekends.
Online sessions can be booked Monday through Thursday.

The free 30 minute session is online only and designed to allow you to ask me questions, have a little meet and greet prior to starting the first lesson, and to make a longer term plan.
Please note, I will wait 5 minutes past the start time. If you do not communicate or show up within that 5 minute timeframe, the session will be cancelled
