About Swasti
Hi! I’m Swasti, and I’ve been teaching debate and public speaking for the past 2 years as a Junior Fellow Debate Coach at Debate Spaces. I’ve worked with students aged 9 to 17 from different parts of the world, which has really helped me understand different learning styles and personalities.
I’ve always loved English, especially literature and writing, because I enjoy understanding ideas, emotions, and different perspectives through words. Teaching started as something I enjoyed on the side, but it quickly became something I genuinely care about.
I’m someone who believes learning should feel comfortable and not intimidating. I try to create a space where students feel free to speak, make mistakes, and grow without pressure. At the same time, I make sure they actually improve and feel more confident in their skills over time.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, writing, and exploring different forms of storytelling, which I often bring into my classes to make them more engaging and relatable.

I like to keep my classes interactive, relaxed, and actually enjoyable, because honestly, English shouldn’t feel like a burden. My focus is not just on “studying” the subject, but helping students express themselves clearly and confidently.
For literature, I don’t believe in rote learning. We break down stories, characters, and themes through discussion, real-life connections, and a bit of storytelling, so students actually get what they’re reading (and don’t forget it the next day).
When it comes to writing and creative writing, I encourage students to think freely and develop their own voice. We use fun prompts, short exercises, and feedback sessions to improve structure, vocabulary, and creativity without making it feel forced.
For reading and speaking, I include activities like reading aloud, conversations, and small speaking tasks to build fluency and confidence. I also bring in techniques from my debate coaching experience to help students speak more clearly and think on their feet.
A typical class usually starts with a quick warm-up (like a short discussion or reading), then we move into the main topic, followed by practice activities, and end with feedback so students know exactly how to improve.
One of my biggest strengths is adapting to each student. I’ve been teaching students aged 9 to 17 from different parts of the world for the past 2 years, so I’m comfortable working with different levels, personalities, and learning styles.
My classes are mainly for school students who want to improve their English, do better in literature, or just become more confident in speaking and writing.
