About Monty

My name is Monty, and I am currently completing a degree in Electronics Engineering at UNSW Canberra. Before moving to the ACT, I served as a Running Coach at Woodcroft College for over two years. In that role, I was proud to double student participation by fostering a supportive yet high-standard environment. I understand how to motivate young learners, build their confidence, and help them overcome academic hurdles. As an Engineering student, I use advanced mathematics and physics daily, allowing me to explain the "why" behind difficult concepts. Whether you are looking to boost your ATAR or master the BSSS curriculum, I provide a structured, goal-oriented approach that emphasizes both academic success and the development of effective study habits. My mission is to empower students with the same resilience and problem-solving skills I use in my own professional training.

About the lesson

I provide a highly structured and goal-oriented approach to tutoring. Drawing from my background as an Electronics Engineering student at UNSW Canberra I specialize in breaking down complex STEM concepts into logical, simplified steps. I don't just teach the "how"; I focus on the "why" to ensure students can solve problems independently.

Typical Length: 60 minutes (though 120-minute sessions are available for intensive exam prep).

Who it’s for: All students (Years 1–12), with a focus on the ACT BSSS curriculum (Maths, Physics, and Engineering studies).

Experience: I bring years of experience as a Running Coach at Woodcroft College, where I learned how to motivate students and double program participation through clear communication and mentorship.

Every session is tailored to the student’s specific syllabus. We will mention and tackle specific pain points from their recent coursework, work through practice problems, and develop the "innovative problem-solving" mindset required for senior secondary success. My goal is to help students build the discipline and academic resilience needed to excel in their ATAR.
