About Carlos

My name is Carlos, and I’m an AP-focused math tutor based in Los Angeles, California. I graduated from a gifted STEM Magnet program, and I’m currently studying engineering at Cal Poly Pomona, where advanced mathematics is a core part of my education. I specialize in AP Calculus AB and BC, with additional support in Precalculus and AP Physics. I’m committed to providing clear, structured, and supportive lessons that help students build confidence and succeed in challenging coursework.

About the lesson

My lessons are structured, clear, and adapted to each student’s learning style. I focus on helping students truly understand concepts, not just memorize steps.

A typical lesson includes:

- Reviewing key concepts and identifying gaps

- Working through AP-style problems step by step

- Explaining strategies used in AP Calculus and AP Physics courses

- Practicing similar problems independently with guidance

I specialize in AP Calculus AB and BC, with additional support in Precalculus and AP Physics. My background in a gifted STEM Magnet program and current engineering studies allows me to explain challenging topics clearly and logically.

Lessons are ideal for:

- High school students taking AP or honors math

- Students preparing for AP exams

- Students who want to strengthen their foundations and build confidence in advanced STEM courses

I create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. I also offer bilingual support in English and Spanish when helpful.
