About Lucas
I'm Lucas, an Aerospace Engineering graduate (MEng, University of Leicester). What I enjoyed most about my degree wasn't memorising formulae, it was seeing how physics and maths actually explain the way things work, from why a wing generates lift to how an engine converts fuel into motion. That's the understanding I try to build with every student.
Tutoring is new to me, but the material isn't. Between my degree and multiple projects such as modelling airflow over an aircraft wing, I've had to get properly comfortable with this stuff well beyond what any exam asks for. I also sat some demanding exams of my own very recently, so I know exactly what that pressure feels like.
I cover A-Level physics and maths, with the aim of making sure a topic actually makes sense before moving on to exam technique. Feel free to message me and we can figure out if it's a good fit.

Aimed for: A-Level physics and maths, for students typically aged 16 to 18 working towards their exams, on any exam board.
My Qualifications: I hold an MEng in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Leicester. I'm just starting out as a tutor, but I bring genuine, hands-on subject expertise from real engineering projects, including a project modelling airflow over an aircraft wing, which I use to make lessons concrete rather than abstract. Having recently been through demanding exams myself at degree level, I understand what it takes to prepare properly for high-pressure assessments.
My Methodology: I focus on building real understanding of a topic rather than just memorising formulae or steps, since that's what actually holds up under exam pressure. Where it helps, I bring in real examples from engineering, like how airflow behaves over an aircraft wing, to show why something works rather than just how to apply it. Sessions are built around the specific exam board and whatever topics a student is finding hardest, with regular past paper practice built in throughout rather than left until just before exams.
Length: One hour, which is the standard length for an A-Level session and gives enough time to work through a topic or a set of past paper questions properly without rushing.
