About Julia

My name is Julia and I'm a 24 year old History graduate from Oxford University.

I'm always excited at the prospect for instilling my love for the humanities in my tutees. I'm enthusiastic at teaching across the board at primary level to specialised A-Level subject guidance, with the great ability to help students with their personal statements and UCAS applications, for Oxbridge and beyond.

I have tutored children of primary school age across a variety of subjects. From this, I understand the need to break content into digestible and enjoyable segments and enjoy utilising a variety of learning techniques to make the content fun. After graduating I worked for a number of tutoring agencies helping A-Level English, History and Politics students with their GCSE and A Level exam preparation and personal statements. I pride myself on helping students to craft personal statements that do justice to their drive and curiosity to explore their chosen subject. I focus on perfecting examination technique for older students whilst instilling a love for detail and creativity amongst all.

"Julia is an energetic, patient and dedicted tutor who instilled in Freddie a real love for literature. She helped him with projects that earned him a headmaster's commendation. He's so much for confident and now genuinely enjoys reading." - Emma Fogarty

"Julia was so invaluable in helping me prepare for my A-Level History exam. She's great at breaking down complex problems and ideas into simple theories and made planning and writing essays genuinely fun." - Margaux Whyte

Professor Benjamin T - Somerville College, Oxford University:
"I was Julia's Director of Studies when she read History at Oxford, 2015-18. Alongside her obvious academic credentials, she is a very lively and enthusiastic person, who will be great fun as a tutor. She is also very personable and will be good at jollying her pupils along and getting them interested in what they're doing. I would judge that she will be an engaging and stimulating tutor."
