About Sandra

I am a graduated Electrical Engineer with a strong passion for mathematics and helping students build confidence in their learning. My background gives me a high level of proficiency in algebra, trigonometry, functions, and problem-solving, and I enjoy breaking complex ideas into simple, easy-to-understand steps. I have experience supporting learners through volunteer work, which strengthened my communication skills, patience, and ability to connect with students from different backgrounds. I create a calm, encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and progressing at their own pace. My goal is to help every learner understand the “why” behind math, not just memorize formulas, so they can succeed with confidence.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is supportive, structured, and personalised. I break maths concepts into simple, clear steps and use real‑world examples to help students understand and apply what they learn. I adapt my teaching style to each learner’s pace, focusing on building confidence, strong foundations, and effective problem‑solving skills. Lessons typically run for 45–60 minutes, depending on the student’s needs.

As a graduated Electrical Engineer, I bring strong proficiency in mathematics, especially algebra, trigonometry, and functions. I also have experience supporting learners through volunteer work, which strengthened my communication, patience, and cultural adaptability. My lessons are suitable for primary, high school, NCEA students, and adult learners who want to improve their maths skills or gain confidence.
