About Yongjae

Since I was a sophomore in High School I have privately tutored kids. I have over 3,000+ hours of experience tutoring kids, both privately tutoring them or in a private institution. I am almost certain that amongst people my age I have more experience than the rest of the peers. This also means that I have seen different learning styles and have tried different teaching style, so I know what will work for certain students and what will not. My students have also gone on to do exceptionally well in the subjects that I tutor them in. All of my students who I have taught STEM subjects in have not received a grade below an "A-" and most of my students who I taught Language Arts or Debate have gone on to win awards.

About the lesson

My lesson plan is very flexible to the student. I first have a trial lesson with the student to gauge how they learn and what they respond best with. I also ask them questions during our trial lesson to gauge their response to certain teaching styles. I also have a very good sense of where certain student's levels are at after the first lesson. My regular lesson plans are as follows: 10 mins of Ice Breakers (I'm a teacher but at the same time I wish to know you as a person, not just a random person who teaches.) 20-30 Minutes of Questions from previous lesson. [If no questions I continue] Rest of the time I teach, and I also have a thing called the red-pen guide. Where I have a question bank of the individual student's wrong questions. And I expect the student to be able to explain to me what they did wrong and why the right answer is right. This study technique has helped my students reach high grades. My range of lessons are wide. I have taught in private institutions before and I have also done personal tutors since I was in high school. So my range of subjects I can teach are wide. I specialize in STEM, but I also do Language Arts. I also am a firm believer of doing things for the students. For Example, if the student does not like homework, then I do not assign homework. But because I do not assign homework, I expect the student to be able to understand and explain the concept to me with great accuracy.
