About Jordan
I've been playing drums for 18 years. In the past 10 years I've taught over 200 students, with ages ranging from 5-85 and skill levels from absolute beginner to more advanced players. I have seen consistent growth in all of my students, in their ability and in the enrichment & joy that music brings them.
Check out my YouTube channel to see more of my playing.
I am fully DBS checked.

I have been teaching drums for 10 years now & have experience teaching over 200 people between the ages of 5 - 85.
My particular approach is centred around methods of practice, experiential learning and energy in the body.
I have learnt to play and continue to practice through states of awareness & ingraining motions in an effortless way. Learning music as a malleable language has freed me up to listen to what is going on around me and respond from an authentic place when it is time to play.
Too often music is taught in a rigid manor, students are taught to think too much and use their minds in the wrong way and it is to the detriment of their enjoyment and being present with the sound & instrument when they play.
You'd be surprised at how many people are completely somewhere else while playing.
Fear is often an obstacle, many people feel restricted in their activities and unable to express themselves.
Those who transcend this barrier of fear and ego tend to have a much more enjoyable time playing, and the result is that this is reflected in the music. The practice of making music can be a truly nourishing experience, or a troubling and stressful one. It all depends on the approach.
Drumming is especially useful in calming the nervous system and helping us to get in touch with our bodies.
Music is about expression, as your mentor my constant focus would be on helping you find your expression and giving you the tools to bring that out on the drums in the most organic way.
Everybody learns differently, I am very open in my communication and direct in tailoring the approach we take to best suit you.
A frantic mind is usually a symptom of energetic blocks and unresolved trauma. Drumming is a way of engaging with the energy that is undeniably there. It is a complete experience to play music. While playing drums, you are using every part of yourself! It is the ultimate way to embody music, and the earliest form of it.
I teach all skill levels, this is not really a point of contention for me.
My main desire is to teach willing, interested and introspective people who are looking to develop themselves and enjoy the process of learning and overcoming obstacles, no matter how trained your limbs may currently be!
Yes, this may sound a little woo woo. I am enamoured with the practices of Yoga, Buddhism and TCM..
When I began to really practice the drums, I was not aware that what I was really doing was meditating on movements/ rhythmic mantras. I love the relationship between the body, the mind,
and the spirit of the sound. I love the communication that can happen between people who know and speak this wonderful language.
I have a Higher Diploma & a Degree in Contemporary Music Performance, and while this experience opened me up to all different kinds of music and connected me with lots of wonderful musicians -
the main thing I took away was ways that I DIDN'T want to learn, or teach others. SO DRY AND EXPRESSIONLESS!!!
Lessons with me are fun. Just ask Will, who is currently studying drums at Leeds Conservatoire.
"I always look forward to my lessons with Jordan, he has really helped me in bringing my drumming along and developing my own style of playing. He's supportive in his approach and gives me all the tools I need to be the best drummer I can be. Thank you Jordan!"
I also play other instruments, write music and am currently at a wonderful music studio so these lessons are not even exclusive to drummers by any stretch.
If you are looking to develop your piano/ guitar/ bass playing in an interesting rhythmical manner then I am your guy!
Learn to speak the language with me.
I'm excited to meet you!

Jordan knows his stuff, technically and theoretically, and has a great way of breaking down complex ideas. He’s also a thoroughly nice bloke and I’d recommend him unreservedly.
I had the pleasure of teaching Jordan for three years on the BIMM London Bmus course. He has proven himself to be a driven, musical, creative and methodical musician. I am sure he will make a great teacher.

For anyone looking to take up drums or getting back into drums should definitely think about choosing Jordan as their tutor! He’s very experienced having worked with many other musicians and big names within the drum industry so you’ll know you will be in good hands.
He’s very helpful and always breaks things down to make it easier to understand. This is very helpful as music is like a completely new language, in which he is patient when things get tough and complicated.
I have only been having lessons with Jordan for around 2 months now and would highly recommended him. I feel that in this short amount of time I have already started broadening my creativity, skill set, knowledge, and I am getting pushed to practice more often and further my progress, which is especially useful for me as I am soon to be at music university.Jordan has been my teacher for a few months now. He made me feel comfortable about learning an instrument as a mature learner. He is approachable and finds novel ways of teaching. I definitely recommend Jordan as a drum teacher. I have learned a lot from him from being a complete beginner to now able to do basic beats that sound okay.
Brilliant teacher. Takes time to find out what approach works for you. Has several ways to explain it to you. He's also patient and extremely knowledgeable.
Jordan has a unique approach with each student. He always maintains a positive attitude, making sure each student feels welcomed. His vast knowledge in music and advanced technical abilities make him a perfect choice for students from all levels. His personal teaching style makes music fun and easy to understand.
Jordan’s been teaching my son for just over six months now—first in person and lately (under lockdown) via Skype. Beyond his obviously amazing drumming skills, he’s a great tutor—patient, knowledgeable and brilliant at sharing and spreading his enthusiasm and passion for the drums. My son has come on in leaps and bounds under Jordan’s tuition. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.
