About Lauren
Hello, my name is Lauren and welcome to my art tutoring lessons.
I'm a student of the Diploma of Visual Arts and Graduate of Cert III Design Fundamentals, and carry with me 10+ years of experience in the art field. I wish to spread my knowledge of the hobby and industry with people as a tutor and teach the skills I've learnt, in a way that inspires my students to create
I'm extremely passionate about art and everything about it, and I bring my passion into my practise to give you the experience you deserve. I love meeting new people and getting to know my students, and I love making every session as fun as possible.

I teach to people of all ages and all skill levels (from beginner to advanced). I have a wide experience in many art practises of your choice.
I teach:
- Drawing with Graphite or Charcoal
- Acrylic Painting
- Oil Painting
- Watercolour Painting
- Digital Painting
My teaching method is very relaxed and fluid, and I let my students pursue practise without nervousness and fear to impress mentors constantly looking over your shoulder, as I have unhappily experienced in the past as a student. I provide the best tips and knowledge to aid you and your unique journey, and my goal is to lead you into a creative practise and style that you can be proud to have and progress you in your art practise and/or career.
I like to teach by creating art alongside you so you have a reference to watch for tips and progress without feeling the pressure of me watching and telling you what you do every second. It prevents your true creativity to unhatch, and plants a seed of constant doubt in your mind that everything you put down on paper is incorrect.
I don't believe in criticism, only encouragement. One of the most beautiful things about art is that there is no wrong answer, and I spread this wherever I can. If you're unhappy with what you create, that's great, because it means we can change it together into something that makes you proud.
For beginners and those with no art experience, I like to start developing basic skills, colour theory and techniques to get the hang of the medium and how to use it. We proceed into more in-depth exercises depending on your progress and how comfortable you become with your work.
For more advanced students, we progress to more complex works, tackling skills and exercises that challenge your knowledge.
If these sort of sessions don't appeal to you, I have alternate kinds of lessons, including personal projects you wish to create, and need aid. You can bring your project to my lessons and we can work on them as I guide you through what you wish to accomplish and how to do it.
Regardless of skill level, my goal as a tutor is to widen your knowledge of the medium and develop your unique art style.
I aim to create a learning space you feel comfortable and relaxed in to create beautiful artworks and inspire you as a student, and I do everything in my power to make our lessons something you look forward to every time.
Remember! There is no end to our learning, and everybody has something new to teach, and our journey with discovering creative expression is boundless. If you wish to pursue me as a tutor to help you grow as an artist, I would be delighted to teach you what I know.
