My name is Catherine, and I specialise in tutoring A-Level, GCSE, and KS3 students in Biology. With a strong academic background and extensive tutoring experience, I am committed to helping my students achieve their academic goals. My Approach to Tutoring: Techniques and Teaching Methodology: I believe in a student-centred approach to teaching, where I tailor my lessons to meet each student’s individual needs and learning style. My teaching style includes: Interactive Learning: Encouraging active participation through discussions, problem-solving exercises, and real-life applications relevant to biology. Conceptual Understanding: Focusing on building a strong foundation by ensuring students understand the underlying biological concepts before moving on to more complex topics. Regular Assessments: Using quizzes, tests, and homework assignments to assess progress and identify areas for improvement in biology. Feedback and Support: Providing constructive feedback and continuous support to boost confidence and motivation in the subject. Typical Length of a Lesson: Each tutoring session typically lasts for one hour, but I am flexible and can adjust the length based on the student’s needs and preferences. Whether you need a quick review session or an in-depth study session, I am here to accommodate your schedule. Qualifications/Experience as a Tutor: Current Role: Tutor for 2 years teaching online lessons for A-Level, GCSE, and KS3 students in Biology, Chemistry and Maths. Academic Background: I have achieved outstanding results in my own studies, with an A* in Biology at A-Level. Additionally, I was awarded the H.G. Abel Prize for outstanding academic achievement during sixth form. I have also served as a volunteer tutor, helping year 11 students with their GCSE Biology studies and providing academic support in various other capacities. My lessons are designed for students aged 11-18 who are preparing for their A-Level, GCSE, or KS3 biology exams. Whether you are struggling with a specific topic, aiming for top grades, or looking to enhance your understanding and skills in biology, I am here to help you succeed.
