About Sogol
My name is Sogol, and I bring both academic depth and proven teaching experience to every lesson. As a PhD candidate at RMIT University, I work daily with advanced scientific concepts, research methods, and analytical problem-solving. This means I don’t just teach chemistry at a surface level — I understand it thoroughly and can explain it with clarity and structure.
Over the past five years, I have supported high school students at different academic levels, from those needing foundational support to those aiming for top results. My students improve not only because we practice questions, but because they develop genuine understanding and confidence in how to think through problems independently.

My name is Sogol, and I approach tutoring with structure, clarity, and high expectations. I believe strong results come from deep understanding — not memorisation — so my sessions are designed to build real conceptual mastery.
Teaching Methodology & Techniques
I begin by identifying the student’s current level, knowledge gaps, and academic goals. From there, I design lessons that are:
Concept-focused – breaking complex topics into simple, logical steps
Interactive – encouraging students to explain ideas back to me to strengthen retention
Exam-oriented – practising structured problem-solving and past-style questions
Confidence-building – correcting mistakes immediately and reinforcing reasoning
I use worked examples, targeted exercises, and structured revision summaries to ensure students can apply concepts independently. For students preparing for exams, I incorporate timed practice and strategy training to improve accuracy and speed.
Lesson Structure & Duration
Typical lessons are 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the student’s needs.
A standard session includes:
Quick review of previous material
Teaching or clarification of new concepts
Guided practice
Independent problem-solving with feedback
Summary and homework plan
