About Spencer
My name is Spencer Byrne, I’m a poet, author, and Creative Writing graduate with experience in the field of teaching. English has been my life long passion and I’ve always wanted to share that passion with other people through teaching and tutoring. Whether this is teaching the academic analysis of literature, an appreciation for the written word, or simply aiding in your basic English skills, I’m here to help!

My teaching method varies from student to student, I like to get to know you and your learning preferences before I lock us into one teaching style. Every body is different after all! Are you an auditory learner, a visual learner, or kinaesthetic? I can craft individual lesson plans for every type of person that learns with me.
That being said I aim to create engaging and exciting lessons in a dynamic learning environment so that youstay focused on the marketable being taught the entire lesson! That means interactive activities that keep your attention focused on the topics instead of dull repetition—this is no secondary school English class!
My lessons range from 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on the age of the student and the material being taught.
I have a degree in Creative Writing and am a qualified TEFL teacher. I’ve also been involved in tutoring young people since I was in secondary school, spending my free time volunteering at a local youth group and in peer mentoring sessions.
My lessons are diverse and can be applied to a wide range of people, from young children who need extra help with their vocabulary, to teenagers beginning their academic career, to creative writing hobbyists!
