About BRIDGETT

I am a qualified Creative Arts teacher (B.Ed) with a strong passion for both education and the arts. I also hold a Diploma in Fine Arts and have participated in — and won — various fashion design and fine arts competitions, which has given me a solid foundation in both creative expression and technical skill.

I specialize in teaching Grades 4–7, and my goal is not only to improve learners’ artistic ability, but also to build their confidence, creativity, and overall approach to learning. I believe that creativity plays a vital role in education, and when learners are guided correctly, it can positively impact all areas of their academic development.

My teaching style is structured, supportive, and easy to follow. I break down techniques into clear, step-by-step processes so that learners feel capable and motivated, even if they are complete beginners. I create a calm and encouraging environment where learners are comfortable to try, make mistakes, and improve.

I am able to teach in both English and Afrikaans, and I adapt my lessons to suit each learner’s individual pace and needs.

With my combination of formal teaching experience and artistic training, students can feel confident that they are receiving professional, reliable, and high-quality guidance. My focus is always on helping each learner improve steadily while developing a genuine enjoyment for art and learning.

About the lesson

I am a B.Ed qualified Creative Arts teacher specializing in Grades 4–7, with a strong foundation in both education and the arts. Before going into teaching, I completed a Diploma in Fine Arts and participated in — and won — various fashion design and fine arts competitions, which shaped my creative approach and technical skill.

My teaching approach is creative, structured, and highly supportive. I use art as a tool to unlock thinking skills, because creativity improves understanding across all subjects — not just Creative Arts. What makes me unique is my ability to break down complex drawing and design techniques into simple, step-by-step processes, allowing every learner — even beginners — to succeed with confidence.

I am proficient in English and Afrikaans, and I am able to teach comfortably in both languages depending on the learner’s needs.

A typical lesson with me includes:

A clear demonstration of techniques and concepts
Guided, step-by-step practice
Individual support and constructive feedback
Confidence-building through encouragement and creativity

Lessons are engaging, practical, and results-driven, helping learners improve both their artistic ability and their approach to learning.

My lessons are ideal for:

Primary school learners (Grades 4–7)
Beginners who feel they “can’t draw”
Learners needing support with Creative Arts schoolwork
Students who want to improve their marks and confidence

Learners can expect to see visible improvement within a few lessons, both in their artwork and in their overall confidence.
