About Morgan

I am a multi-disciplinary practising artist based in the north-east of Scotland, working primarily with video and film, performance, drawing and comix, and theatrical poetry. My works are highly varied, and informed by mythology, storytelling, history, film, language and literature, and music. Main themes explored are subversion/transgression, and gender and aesthetics of the body, especially non-binary and queer. I studied for nine consecutive years at the University of Dundee (2016-2025) in order to pursue art, and ultimately teaching, as a career, gaining the PGCert in teaching in higher education, which has allowed me to shape my current teaching practice and methodology. I have tutored in-person and online at the University of Dundee, between 2022 and 2024.

About the lesson

Tutoring is bespoke, and tailored to the student’s needs – as art is as diverse as the individuals who make it. Writing and more academic-based sessions will be more structured but equally relaxed, and all tutorials delivered via video, email, or phone as required. Practical principles can be demonstrated on video conferencing, or pre-recorded and shared as applicable as either video or sound files. Written work can be shared via email and discussed accordingly. A lesson will last typically at least 45 minutes but longer sessions are no problem. This allows for detailed discussion, reflection, demonstrations, ad hoc research, etc. Qualifications: BA Hons. (1st Class), Dundee, 2020. MFA Art & Humanities (Dundee, 2021). Practice-based PhD in Contemporary Art (Dundee, 2025). PGCert Academic Practice (Teaching in Higher Education - AFHEA accreditation, Dundee, 2024). Experience of one-to-one class-based tutoring, lecturing and seminars, and teaching academic skills, at University of Dundee and Duncan of Jordanstone School of Art and Design, Dundee. I will teach undergraduate to postgrad level, from Year 1 (general foundation) to Master’s. References available upon request.
