About KIERAN

As a younger tutor with recent experience in middle school, high school curriculums, and having served as a private university tutor for a year at Queen's University, I understand the challenges that students face in today's fast-paced academic environment. With firsthand knowledge of the latest teaching techniques and a genuine passion for helping students excel, I can easily connect with my students and guide them on their journey to realizing their full potential.

Having navigated through these educational stages myself, I'm familiar with the unique demands of middle school, high school, and university levels. This allows me to anticipate common obstacles, provide timely and relevant assistance, and deliver engaging and relatable explanations that resonate with my students. My youthful perspective ensures that our tutoring sessions are not only educational but also enjoyable, creating a positive learning experience.

During my time as a private tutor at Queen's University, I gained valuable insight into the diverse needs and learning styles of university students. This experience has honed my ability to customize lessons and teaching approaches to suit each individual, fostering academic growth and success at the collegiate level.

Furthermore, my continuous pursuit of personal growth has kept me up-to-date with the latest educational trends and resources, allowing me to bring fresh and innovative ideas into our tutoring sessions. I am always eager to learn new ways of helping my students grasp and master complex concepts, while also instilling the love for learning that has inspired my own academic journey.

Ultimately, my goal as a tutor is to create a supportive and collaborative atmosphere where students are empowered to take ownership of their education and become confident, independent learners. I look forward to working together to overcome academic challenges and celebrate each milestone on the road to success.

As a highly skilled computer engineer with a strong background in mathematics and physics, I am excited to offer my tutoring services to students looking to improve their understanding of these subjects. With my extensive knowledge and passion for teaching, I am confident in my ability to help you achieve your academic goals.

Teaching Methodology and Techniques: My tutoring approach is centred on the individual needs of each student, fostering a supportive learning environment where mastering complex concepts becomes easier and more enjoyable. I employ a range of techniques, such as breaking down complex problems into simpler parts, providing real-world examples, and using visual aids to demonstrate abstract concepts. By adapting to each student's learning style, I ensure that they grasp not only the fundamentals but also the practical applications of the topics we cover.

Typical Lesson Plan: A typical lesson plan would begin with a review of the student's current understanding and any challenges they are facing in their studies. From there, I would introduce new concepts, ensuring that the foundational knowledge is in place before moving to more complex topics. Throughout the lesson, I would engage the student with interactive examples, asking thought-provoking questions, and providing additional practice problems tailored to their needs. At the end of the lesson, I would summarize key points and provide guidance on how to continue building their skills in preparation for the next session.

What Sets Me Apart: As a computer engineer, I have a unique perspective on mathematics and physics, which allows me to bring real-world context to the subject matter. I am adept at identifying gaps in understanding and tailoring my lessons to fill those gaps effectively. My strong communication skills and dedication to helping my students succeed set me apart as a tutor.

Who the Lessons are For: My lessons are designed for students of various levels, from middle school and high school to university degree programs, as well as those preparing for standardized tests such as the SAT or ACT. Whether you are struggling with a specific topic, looking to improve your general understanding of the subject, or simply seeking supplemental guidance to further develop your skills, my tutoring sessions can be customized to meet your specific needs.

In conclusion, my experience as a computer engineer, combined with my passion for teaching and effective teaching techniques, make me an ideal choice to help you reach your mathematics and physics goals. I look forward to fostering your success and encouraging you to excel in these challenging subjects.
