About Mary
I am a recent Art Education grad from Ohio who loves to help any artistic community I can! I have held positions of At Director and Assistant Director of a craft & design center, and love working with people. I love to create art integrative lessons that include math, science, history and music to envelope in a worldly experience.

I see education through a social justice lens and hold myself as an educator responsible for making sure all students receive a fair education within a safe environment. In the artroom my students will not only learn how to use materials but they will learn how to creatively problem solve. My classroom will explore world history, world issues and cultures through pieces of work and the artists’ them selves within these societies. I believe in leading a process based curriculum were students analyze subject matter and practice decisive skills in deciding what is the best way to create the visual solution. Students will learn how to talk about art and practice new vocabulary during critique of their own, each other’s as well as historical artist’s works. My goal is to create a space that grows self confidence, empathy and communication skills within my students and fosters respect between the students as well as myself.
