I developed the desire to teach when I became a volunteer soccer coach for a youth recreative team in the United States. It was amazing to be part of the development of those kids, since then, I decided that I wanted to do the same thing in other areas of my life. Teaching languages became one of my passions.

In my classes, I like to focus on communication, especially in speaking and listening, because these are the two main skills you will need to be good at to be fluent and be able to talk to anyone. If your focus is not conversation, we can certainly talk about anything you would like to learn. Here YOU will always be the focus!

Desenvolvi o desejo de ensinar quando me tornei treinador de futebol voluntário de um time recreacional infantil nos Estados Unidos. Foi incrível fazer parte do desenvolvimento daquelas crianças, desde então, decidi que queria fazer o mesmo em outras áreas da minha vida. Ensinar idiomas se tornou uma das minhas paixões.

Nas minhas aulas, gosto de me concentrar em comunicação, especialmente em falar e ouvir, porque essas são as duas principais habilidades nas quais você precisará ser bom para ser fluente e poder conversar com qualquer pessoa. Se o seu foco não for a conversa, certamente podemos conversar sobre qualquer coisa que você gostaria de aprender. Aqui VOCÊ sempre será o foco!

Hi! My name is Joao and I can teach you English and Portuguese.

I moved to the USA when I was 16 to become a student-athlete and chase my dreams. I know how hard it is to overcome language barriers and adapt to a new culture. I am here to help you overcome your barriers and succeed abroad. Some things I am passionate about are: teaching, exercise, science, sports, traveling, different cultures, and spending time with my family.

We can talk about how the life of an immigrant is, how an educational institution is in the United States, strategies to go study abroad as an international student or a student-athlete, or anything else you feel comfortable with.

I am looking forward to connecting with you soon!

Oi! Meu nome é João e eu posso te ensinar inglês e português.

Eu me mudei para os EUA quando tinha 16 anos para me tornar um estudante-atleta e perseguir meus sonhos. Sei o quão difícil é superar as barreiras linguísticas e me adaptar a uma nova cultura. Estou aqui para ajudá-lo a superar suas barreiras e ter sucesso no exterior. Algumas coisas pelas quais eu sou apaixonado são: ensino, exercício, ciência, esportes, viagens, culturas diferentes e passar tempo com minha família.
