About August
I have always gravitated towards teaching roles. I was Troop Guide in boy scouts for 4 years, teaching skills to the new members. In college, I took on New Member Educator in my business fraternity, and worked one on one with new members to develop their resume, interview, and professionalism skills for over two years.
In the professional world, I started as a researcher in the construction tech field. Before I was there a year, I was training new researchers on our processes. I also started an educational program for my team to take 30 minute educational sessions regularly to improve performance.
I eventually landed in an enablement role, training all new hires in my department for two years. I also educated tenured employees and created educational content for all in the company, including the curriculum for new hires.
I believe passion is what makes people truly good at something, and I am very passionate about teaching.

My approach to teaching mirrors my student's approach to learning. By learning about my students as a person, I can relate lessons to their specific life experience. I also like to add humor into the mix when appropriate to help it stick.
My lesson plan is simple: make sure the student understands the core concept of the lesson., then build the specifics upon actual understanding of the subject.
I like to have fun with lessons. I don't think learning should be boring. The more fun and engaging the lesson, the better. I believe what sets me apart is my passion for and comfortability with teaching others. This allows me to make it more relaxed and enjoyable.
My lessons are for elementary through high school english (grammar, literature, etc.)
