My teaching approach for Chemistry is focused on inorganic and bioinorganic chemistry, covering theories, structures, and applications in detail. I explain crystal field theory, valence bond theory, and molecular orbital theory with clear diagrams and examples, including splitting diagrams and electron configurations. I cover coordination compounds, isomerism (geometric, optical, ionization), magnetic properties, colour of complexes, and stability constants. I also teach organometallic chemistry including 18-electron rule, metal carbonyls, ferrocene, and catalytic cycles like hydrogenation, hydroformylation, and olefin metathesis. In bioinorganic chemistry, I cover metalloenzymes like carbonic anhydrase, hemoglobin, cytochrome, and electron transfer proteins, along with medicinal applications like cisplatin. I also include spectroscopic methods like UV-Vis, IR, NMR, and ESR for inorganic compounds. I use case studies from real research and industrial applications to show practical relevance. I provide detailed notes, problem sets, and practice questions for each topic. I assign homework that includes both theoretical and analytical questions. I conduct regular tests and provide detailed feedback on performance. I also encourage students to work on model-building and visualisation to understand 3D structures. My goal is to help you master coordination and organometallic chemistry with confidence and clarity.
