About Oya
I am a recent Chemistry graduate from QMUL. I am also undergoing my PGCE in secondary chemistry teaching.
I am very results driven. My game plan is to identify what is known and what isn’t and to move forward from then; diagnose and then treat. I believe each student is different so all my tutees will have a different schedule, different content to focus on and different teaching methods. I also aim to make teaching as fun as possibly can be. I am very enthusiastic as I love teaching and learning and I also love science. I try to instil this enthusiasm and excitement for learning with my students by making sure no two lessons are ever the same and success is always rewarded.
As I am undergoing my PGCE, I am very well versed in the national curriculum and the syllabus for exam boards in the subjects I will be teaching. I am also familiar with a range of teaching techniques and have experience with SEND students.
I have over three years of experience in tutoring. I first started tutoring at 17 when I was studying for my A-Levels by tutoring GCSE students. I continued this during my first two years at university with both GCSE and A-Level students. All the students that I have tutored were very successful and all gained grades A*-B.
