About Thomas
My name is Tom and I am a friendly person graduating in BSc Combined Science and MSc Analytical Chemistry. I have 10 years experience in Pharmaceutical analytical testing working within Chromatography and Mass spectrometry
I have no previous, formal tutoring experience however, I am experienced in successfully teaching placement students within the team at work.
I have a very relaxed teaching style, designed to allow for mistakes, understanding that learning is a process where incremental progression over time is the goal, really building in a lasting understanding of the topics.
Not only do I aim to teach the subject material, but I aim to actually instill a love for learning and to pass on the actuality of how to learn/think which is a key skill in future life.
Learning happens best in a fun, relaxed, engaging environment !
I would approach topics initially in an informal way, using textbooks, slides, images and generally explain the topic area and it's surroundings. Then moving into more specific details, going through worksheets and quizzes to allow the topic area to be understood by the student from different angles.
