About Douglas

I taught lessons (in Spanish and theology in particular) to high school students and adults for 8 years. To refine my skills and specialize in teaching English, I have pursued the best training in the world, that of the University of Cambridge: Cambridge English. This very intense formation allowed me to deepen my knowledge of the English language, but mostly it allowed me to practice these skills by teaching adults of different levels.

About the lesson

I am an American expat currently pursuing a Masters in Contemporary Philosophy at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. I have learned several languages (Spanish, French, German, Hebrew, Latin, Greek) by various methods, and I find that private lessons helped me the most. My méthode of teaching English is based on my own learning experience and my formation with Cambridge English (part of the University of Cambridge). The acquisition of a language involves many skills: knowledge of grammar, vocabulary, functional language, as well as reading and listening, speaking and writing. My approach is comprehensive and I take all these dimensions into account so that my students can progress rapidly and master English.

Alexia est très motivée et travaille sur le perfectionnement de son anglais. C'est un plaisir de travailler avec elle. Elle veut toujours employer le mot et l'expression justes, ce qui lui permet de vraiment progresser. Un très bon élève !
