About Alexander
I am a University student going into second year looking to tutor over summer! I really enjoy tutoring, having done it before for a few people in years below me during school. Science communication is something I love, and seeing the look on people's face when concepts click always makes my day.
I did 4 A-levels, including Maths, Further Maths, Biology, and Chemistry, attaining A*A*AA overall (A*'s in Chemistry and Maths) and I'm currently studying Natural Sciences at Cambridge, with the view of going into Chemistry in the future.

Luckily, I've got lots of time on my hands to prepare lessons and additional homework for students. I really believe that people learn concepts a lot better if they work the logic out for themselves first, rather than the answer just being given to them, this also keeps the sessions a lot more interesting! Asking questions to the students and teaching them the logical methods they should use to answer them also builds a good base for how they should approach questions they may have in their scientific careers, or just about the world! I am always happy to receive questions from students, and I'm always honest if I don't actually know. Washy answers usually confuse students more than they help, and I'd much rather write the question down and then answer it once I've researched and understood it well myself. Generally I prefer to do one on one sessions as they allow for greater precision and generally are more effective, but small groups are also beneficial. I am happy to do tutoring both in person or over video call.
