About MICHAEL
I'm Michael, an electronics engineer whose background spans national STEM competitions, professional engineering, and hands-on outreach teaching. I hold the Young Engineer for Britain National Award for Engineering Excellence, and at eighteen I became the youngest ever winner of the EW BrightSparks Design Engineer of Tomorrow award. I later returned to judge the Big Bang UK Young Engineers and Scientists Competition, the same national competition I once competed in as a student. I hold an Honors Degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering and have spent over ten years working across defense and corporate engineering, most recently leading software and hardware delivery for a major energy company. Alongside that career, I designed and built an interactive STEM exhibit that I hosted for hundreds of school students and trained primary school teachers to run their own STEM lessons. I bring the same real-world engineering rigor into every lesson, so students learn from someone who has actually built and shipped the things they are studying.

My lessons are built around practical activities informed from experience and visual analogies, so STEM ideas become things you can build and see rather than just read about. I run sessions in one hour or two hour blocks depending on the topic, giving enough time to work through a real problem without losing focus. I teach STEM, robotics, coding and physics to students of all ages, from primary school through to HSC level, and I adapt each lesson to where the student is at rather than following a fixed script.
