About Trinity

Hi! I'm Trinity Points!

I'm currently working as a freelance art educator and illustrator in Los Angeles County.

As an art educator, I have worked primarily with students who have social and emotional disabilities. These students generally have needs that cause them to thrive better in a more flexible environment that I can provide to them by adapting the curriculum and molding to their needs. I love working with disabled and able-bodied children alike. I am very comfortable working with any kind of student.

About the lesson

My Experience:

I have experience teaching emotional skills, social skills, and art, to both on-level students and students with disabilities. Most recently I spent 3 years teaching students with special needs that cause them to thrive better in a more flexible environment that I could provide to them by adapting the curriculum to mold to their needs. This position has given me the opportunity to teach neurodivergent, deaf, blind, and physically disabled teenagers to express themselves through artistic means, grow their artistic talent, and further understand the world around them.

What does a lesson look like?

I'm capable of hosting students at my personal studio in my home in Pasadena, or meeting in public spaces like local (Los Angeles) coffee shops/parks, or even making house calls!

A lesson is fully adaptable to the student's desires, needs, and experience. The important thing for growth in art skill is for students to continuously create in a safe, trusting environment with access to a professional who can keep them on task and answer any questions that pop up.

A student who thrives in structure will experience structured lessons consisting of warm-ups, practicing what we've already covered, exposure to new techniques/mediums, then an end activity of exploration using the new material from that lesson.

A student who thrives in the ability to follow creative inspiration at will would have very loosely structured lessons in which we can simply sit and create together with all the mediums I have access to, and I can input my expertise to help the student achieve their desired outcome as inspiration strikes.
