About Alex
Hi, My name is Alex Wells and I'm a Biology major at Louisiana State University. All my life my goal has been to travel and have as much fun as I can living life along the way. I love cooking, hiking, and reading as my main hobbies. You can find me in the kitchen cooking some dish another anytime I am down and my passion for the things I love extends to the kids I mentor. There is no better feeling than being able to help someone get a concept that I have struggled learning years ago.

As a tutor, my approach is to provide effective and engaging learning experiences tailored to the needs and goals of my students. I aim to facilitate a supportive and collaborative learning environment in which students can grasp concepts, gain skills, and build confidence. Here's how I share my knowledge and support my students:
ASSESSMENT AND GOAL SETTING: I begin by assessing the student's current knowledge, skills, and learning style. This helps me understand their strengths, weaknesses, and learning objectives. Together with the student, we establish clear goals and a roadmap for achieving them.
PERSONALIZED LEARNING: I tailor my teaching methods and materials to suit the individual needs of each student. Whether the student requires help with a specific subject, exam preparation, or skill development, I create a customized plan to address their unique requirements.
CLEAR EXPLANATION: I strive to explain complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner. I break down information into smaller, digestible parts and use real-life examples and analogies to make the material relatable and easier to grasp.
ACTIVE LEARNING: I encourage active participation from my students. This may include asking open-ended questions, promoting discussion, and engaging in problem-solving exercises. Active learning helps students retain information better and fosters critical thinking.
FEEDBACK AND ASSESSMENT: Regular feedback is crucial for improvement. I provide constructive feedback on assignments, quizzes, or exercises, highlighting areas for improvement and recognizing achievements. This feedback loop helps students track their progress and make necessary adjustments.
Overall, my tutoring approach is student-centered, flexible, and focused on empowering students to become independent learners who can apply their knowledge effectively in various contexts.
