About Sophie
I am a senior at Dickinson College with a Major in Biology. I have taken a wide range of classes while at Dickinson including microanatomy, microbiology, mammalogy, ocean ecology, and more. I've also taken many other classes outside of my major ranging from organic chemistry to women and gender studies.
I've also studied abroad in England for a year, which allowed me to better understand teaching methods from other universities and even other countries.
I was also a tutor in high school, which gave me foundational knowledge of how to help students/peers learn.

I focus on tailoring each advising session towards individual students. It's my goal to develop and utilize teaching methods that use different types of learning to help retain information, and process/analyze it productively!
One of the most important facets of learning is knowing how you learn! Using that as a starting point, I can further develop a lesson plan in various subjects. I also understand how learning can be incredibly challenging and hope that during lessons, I can help rebuild confidence.
I’m comfortable working with students at various levels, from those who need foundational support to those looking to fine-tune their knowledge before exams. Just let me know :)!
