About Marianne
I developed a love for biology from a young age, fascinated by the complexity of life and the natural world, which led me to earn a Master’s in Biological Sciences. Over the past 7 years, I have taught students of different ages and levels, focusing on making biology approachable and engaging while building strong conceptual understanding and reasoning skills.
My teaching approach emphasises clarity, patience, and practical learning. I use visual aids, interactive exercises, and real-life examples to illustrate concepts, helping students relate theory to daily life. Lessons are designed to encourage questions, independent thinking, and problem-solving confidence in students.
Outside teaching, I continue learning through research articles, field studies, and participation in science education forums. Watching students transition from confusion to understanding, develop critical thinking, and become confident in exploring biological concepts is deeply fulfilling. I aim to inspire learners to appreciate life sciences, think critically, and cultivate a lifelong curiosity for understanding living systems.

Biology becomes fascinating when students can relate ideas about life, organisms, and ecosystems to what they see every day. In my lessons, I focus on cell structures, genetics, human anatomy, physiology, and ecology while using simple explanations and relatable examples to make concepts clear. Lessons emphasise observation, critical thinking, and understanding the processes that shape living systems. I also encourage interactive learning, where students can analyse diagrams, conduct small experiments, and discuss real-world biological phenomena to deepen understanding.
I structure lessons to match the student’s level. Beginners start with basic cell biology, classification, and human body systems. Intermediate learners explore genetics, metabolic pathways, and ecological interactions with guided exercises. Advanced students focus on molecular biology, research-based experiments, and exam preparation strategies. Each session balances theory, practical examples, and reasoning exercises to ensure steady progress and confidence building.
Biology is more than memorising terms; it fosters analytical thinking, curiosity, and problem-solving skills. Students develop the ability to connect concepts, interpret biological data, and appreciate the diversity of life. My goal is to help learners cultivate curiosity and confidence, empowering them to explore biology independently while enjoying the wonder of living systems.
