About Harlow
My interest in Biology began with a fascination for living systems, from microscopic cells to large ecosystems, and the ways life adapts and interacts. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, and over the past 7 years, I have taught students of all levels, helping them understand complex topics through patient explanations, interactive exercises, and real-life examples that make content relatable and memorable.
I emphasise clarity, hands-on understanding, and encouraging curiosity in all lessons. My teaching approach combines structured explanations, guided discussions, and active participation to help students build confidence and independent thinking. I create a supportive environment where learners feel comfortable asking questions and exploring ideas.
Outside of teaching, I stay engaged with biological research, ecology studies, and scientific discoveries, which enrich my lessons and allow me to illustrate practical applications. Teaching Biology is immensely rewarding because I see students progress from uncertainty to curiosity-driven understanding, developing confidence, analytical skills, and a lasting appreciation for the intricacies of life. Supporting their scientific growth and wonder is one of the most fulfilling aspects of my work.

Biology lessons are most effective when students can see how living systems function in both micro and macro scales. I teach topics such as cell biology, genetics, ecology, evolution, and physiology using clear explanations, diagrams, and real-life examples. Lessons emphasise understanding processes rather than memorisation, allowing students to develop analytical and observational skills while appreciating the complexity of life. Interactive activities, thought experiments, and guided exercises help learners engage actively with content, building deeper comprehension and curiosity.
Lesson content is adapted to each student’s level. Beginners explore fundamental biological principles with relatable examples, basic lab observations, and clear step-by-step explanations. Intermediate learners focus on more detailed mechanisms, data interpretation, and application of concepts. Advanced students analyse complex systems, research data, and experimental design, building independent reasoning and scientific thinking. Each session includes discussion, exercises, and feedback to ensure steady and effective progress.
Biology encourages curiosity, observation, and critical thinking that extend to other areas of study. As students deepen their understanding of organisms and ecosystems, they become more confident in scientific reasoning and problem solving. My goal is to make Biology accessible, engaging, and exciting, helping students develop a lifelong appreciation for life sciences while building analytical skills, curiosity, and confidence in their abilities.
