About MorningBirds
I am a bioengineer and aspiring physician-scientist pursuing an M.S. in Bioengineering at UC San Diego after completing my B.S. in Bioengineering at UC Riverside. My academic and research training spans regenerative biomaterials, polymer chemistry, localized drug delivery, hydrogel characterization, cell adhesion, and mechanistic cell biology.
Across multiple research laboratories, I have developed experience in experimental design, biomaterials synthesis and characterization, fluorescence imaging, proteomics, and biochemical assay development. My current work focuses on cell-surface phototagging and mapping molecular interactions within engineered biological microenvironments.
My broader research interests center on understanding how cells interact with diseased or engineered environments and using those mechanisms to design regenerative biomaterials and localized therapies with an emphasis on the applications to medicine.

My teaching style revolves around a ground-up approach, in which I will guide you through the concepts and skills necessary to grasp concepts related to medicine, biotechnology, and STEM research. I like to structure my lessons in a step-wise approach, starting with the most fundamental concepts, and slowly branching out to suit your interests. With 6+ years doing bioengineering research and working in biotech startups and 8+ years tutoring, what sets me apart from your average tutor is that I have hands-on experience in emerging biotech and have also taught myself much of the skills I've developed over the years. In turn, I hope to teach you as well, as I believe that there is a need for more individuals interested in STEM who actually know the fine details.
My lessons are designed for anyone who is interested in bioengineering/STEM/medicine, who has an interest in research, or just wants to learn more about biotech or the interface between the physical and life sciences. At minimum, a high school-level understanding of math and physical/life sciences would be preferred but not strictly necessary, as I am able to work on your level and build upward. Whether you are still in high school looking for your next step, current undergrad exploring your options, or graduate exploring your niche, I hope to transfer my joy for biotech and show its potential.
