About Sebastian
I have a BS in Biochemistry from FIU and I'm now a PhD student in Biochemistry at FIU. I have been obsessed with chemistry since taking my first class in high school. I have had the privilege of working with professionals within biochemistry and have an array of experiences both in theoretical chemistry and experimental chemistry over the span of 5+ years. I started tutoring at the beginning of college for high school students struggling in mathematics and sciences. I really enjoyed working with students to help build an appreciation for the sciences. As a graduate student, I have gained an appreciation for teaching students how to become successful in chemistry!

Throughout my time as an undergraduate, I have helped students in high school chemistry/AP Chemistry and General Chemistry I and II.
Most of the students I have worked with were either not chemistry students or didn’t have a strong background in chemistry. This experience has given me a good perspective on how to assist struggling students who are not particularly strong in math or sciences. I like to work by reinforcing the fundamental concepts of a lesson and using that core basis to break down questions. This allows the student to understand how to approach solving problems rather than memorizing solutions.
