About Jaqueline

Having a strong background in language education, tutoring, and early childhood instruction, I am confident in my ability to support students in developing the critical literacy skills they need to thrive academically and beyond. In my roles as a Paraeducator at both Ruby Bridges and Maya Lin Elementary Schools in Alameda, I have worked closely with students in small groups and one-on-one to reinforce reading instruction, implement IEP goals, and support literacy development across various learning levels. At Daniel Webster Elementary School in San Francisco, I led weekly reading-focused lessons tailored to early elementary students, emphasizing phonics, vocabulary, and comprehension strategies—particularly for English language learners. My academic foundation, which includes a B.A. in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in International Relations, along with an A.A. in Early Childhood Education, has equipped me with both a broad and deep understanding of child development and educational theory. Additionally, my bilingual skills (English and Portuguese) and certification in Translation and Interpretation from UC Berkeley have helped me build strong connections with diverse student populations.
